WorkSource Downtown

Marcia, Leslie, Mary Frances and I had a wonderful experience today at the WorkSource downtown. The staff were very helpful, and had a table set up for us right at the front entrance. We singed up new patrons at the table, and also (with the blessing of WorkSource staff) walked around the facility and did roaming sign-ups. People were genuinely excited about signing up for their Power Cards, and were eager to hear about the services that we provide, including resources for job seekers such as the Business and Company Resource Center.

I think that this would be an excellent place for us to visit on a regular basis, as they have different clients every day.

It was also very interesting to learn more about the services that the WorkSource provides, which are many. We learned that they do much more than help people to prepare for employment. Rather, they work with a variety of organizations so that they can offer people assistance with life skills in general. I know that Marcia is planning to partner with them for when we open the career and small business center.

And, we signed up SIXTY new patrons in a few short hours.
